Tokyo Sando is a food truck in Portland, OR, specializing in Japanese convenience store style sandwiches. What started as a passion project, became a flourishing business among the COVID-19 pandemic. The goal with this project was to bring a consistent brand across all parts of Tokyo Sando's ecosystem, and also create a fun, inviting space for people to enjoy their delicious cuisine.
Incorporating foodie culture was a must for this company. Their business was successful through influence on social media. This brand takes inspiration from Japanese graphic design, and brings a mascot, "Eggy", to make a cohesive and exciting brand for Tokyo Sando. Another important factor was cost, since this was created at the hight of the pandemic. Utilizing products like washi tape was a great way to bring the brand to their packaging without investing more money into it.
